Miguel Samperio
An IBJJF-certified 1st Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt helping beginners, kids, hobbyists, and competitors develop a strong technical foundation and a game that fits.
More than technique. A clear way to learn.
Miguel has more than 16 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training and over 8 years of coaching experience with adults, children, beginners, hobbyists, and competitors.
He earned his black belt under Professor Marcus Norat of Gracie Humaitá Redlands on June 21, 2022, and has since earned his first degree and IBJJF certification.
His approach is direct and personal: establish a reliable technical foundation, understand why each movement works, and build a game around the student rather than forcing every student into the same style.
A complete view of the fight.
While Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is Miguel’s primary discipline and passion, his martial arts experience extends beyond grappling. Over the years, he has trained in boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai, and mixed martial arts (MMA), giving him a well-rounded understanding of both striking and grappling.
This cross-training allows him to help students develop a more complete martial arts foundation, whether they’re interested in improving overall fitness, learning practical self-defense, preparing for MMA, or becoming more effective in stand-up and clinch situations.
Miguel incorporates concepts from these disciplines when appropriate, helping students understand how striking, movement, distance management, takedowns, and ground control work together in real-world scenarios and mixed martial arts competition.

Focused guidance. Disciplined practice. Positive environment.
Every lesson starts with the individual. The goal is not to collect disconnected techniques; it is to understand positions, practice deliberately, and develop skills you can apply with confidence.
Understand the why
A technique becomes easier to remember when you understand the problem it solves.
Build from strong fundamentals
Reliable posture, base, movement, and position create room for an individual game.
Coach the person
Goals, experience, body type, confidence, and learning style all shape the lesson.
Make feedback usable
Clear corrections and immediate repetition turn information into better movement.
“Every lesson is built around your individual goals. Consistent guidance, disciplined practice, and a positive environment. That’s where progress comes from.”
Bring Miguel the part of your game that needs work.
