1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Los Tiburones Jiu-Jitsu Samperio website and your booking of any private lesson, class, or coaching session ("Lessons") with Miguel Samperio and Los Tiburones Jiu-Jitsu Samperio ("we," "us," or "our"). By using this website or booking a Lesson, you agree to these Terms. If you are booking on behalf of a student under 18, you agree to these Terms on that student's behalf and confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian.
2. Our Services
We provide private, one-on-one and small-group instruction in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kids' BJJ, homeschool Jiu-Jitsu and physical education, practical self-defense, Muay Thai/kickboxing, MMA fundamentals, and competition coaching, for students ages 4 and up. Lesson content, pace, and format are customized to the student and may be adjusted at the coach's discretion for safety or effectiveness.
3. Booking, Deposits & Payment
A $25 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a lesson date and time. Your reservation is not confirmed until the deposit is received, and the deposit is applied toward the total cost of the session. Lesson packages (single lesson, 3-lesson pack, or 5-lesson pack) are purchased for personal use by the enrolled student and are non-transferable unless we agree otherwise. Prices, packages, and fees shown on this website may be updated from time to time and do not retroactively apply to sessions already paid for.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. If adequate notice is given, your deposit can be applied toward a future lesson. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may result in forfeiture of the deposit for that session. We may need to reschedule a lesson due to illness, weather, or other circumstances outside our control, in which case we will work with you to find a new time.
5. Travel Fees
Sessions can take place at our private home gym in Yucaipa (no travel fee), at your gym with prior facility approval, or at your home or another suitable location with enough open space for training mats. No travel fee applies in Yucaipa. In the nearby service area of Redlands, Loma Linda, Highland, Mentone, Grand Terrace, Beaumont, Calimesa, San Bernardino, Colton, Rialto, there is no travel fee at facilities with suitable mats, and a $10 travel fee applies if portable mats are needed. In the extended service area of Riverside, Moreno Valley, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, a $10 travel fee applies at facilities with suitable mats, and a $25 travel fee applies if portable mats are needed. If you're outside these service areas, contact us for a custom travel quote. Travel fees are separate from lesson pricing and are due at the time of the session unless otherwise agreed.
6. Assumption of Risk
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, kickboxing, MMA, and related martial arts training involve physical exertion, close physical contact, and inherent risk of injury, including but not limited to sprains, strains, bruising, and more serious injury. By booking or attending a Lesson, you acknowledge these risks and voluntarily assume them for yourself or, if you are booking for a minor, on the minor's behalf. Before a student's first session, we may require a separate signed liability waiver and release of claims, in addition to these Terms.
You represent that you (or the student you are booking for) are physically able to participate in training and do not have a medical condition that would make participation unsafe. If you have any health concerns, please consult a physician before beginning training and let us know so we can adjust the lesson accordingly.
7. Minors
Students under 18 must be booked by a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for accepting these Terms, any required liability waiver, and payment on the student's behalf. A parent or guardian should be reachable during the lesson in case of an emergency.
8. Conduct & Right to Refuse Service
We expect students, parents, and guardians to treat the coach, training partners, and training space with respect. We may decline to schedule, pause, or end a lesson at our discretion if a student's conduct, health, or behavior creates a safety risk to themselves or others. In that case, fees already paid for completed portions of a session are not refunded, but we will work with you in good faith on any remaining balance of a package.
9. Website Content & Intellectual Property
The text, photos, videos, logo, and other content on this website belong to Los Tiburones Jiu-Jitsu Samperio or are used with permission, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may view and share pages of this website for personal, non-commercial purposes, but you may not copy, reproduce, or repurpose our content, photos, or branding without our prior written consent.
10. Third-Party Links
This website links to third-party platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Google Maps. We don't control those platforms and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of any third-party site is subject to that site's own terms and privacy policy.
11. No Professional or Medical Advice
Nothing on this website or provided during a Lesson is medical, nutritional, or professional advice. Instruction is provided for fitness, skill development, and recreational purposes. Always consult a qualified physician regarding your fitness to participate in physical training.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Los Tiburones Jiu-Jitsu Samperio and Miguel Samperio are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or participation in a Lesson. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for injury caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct where such a limitation is not permitted by law.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Bernardino County, California.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services or policies. The "Last updated" date below reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use this website or book Lessons after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
